HOW TO PLANT AND CARE FOR DAYLILY

Daylilies are considered one of  the easy grower, they are beautiful, some are inexpensive but some hybrids cost hundreds of dollars. Set the daylily roots 0.5 to 1 inch deep, 2 to 2.5 feet apart into well drained soil, amended with organic matter such as earthworm castings, with live earthworm and compost will give you the best results,  6 to 8 hours of daily sunlight is the best condition for your plant to flourish healthily; however, too much sun in warmer zones such as USDA zones 6, may scorch the daylily flowers. If you noticed some shriveled petal on the edge of the daylily flowers or wilting unusually fast, you can fix the problem by moving this plant to a shadier spot or location. Regular watering of daylilies is imperative or like fertilizer to the plant in order to get more, larger flowers, it helps rebloomers form their next flush. Cutting dead stems off at the base of the daylily plant will also produce more flowers.
You can use daylilies of different size varieties to accent foreground, middle and background of any plant bordering. Daylily has an unusual tolerance to competition from tree roots. It can also be used as a tall ground cover either in sunny, light shade or part shade.

HOW TO FIX PEST AND OTHER PROBLEMS OF DAYLILY

The most common problem pest that daylily has is the daylily rust. Symptoms are rust-colored streaks on the foliage, remove the plant that has rust-color streaks from soil and wipe off the rusty-color streaks then bury the lily in a hole of at least 1 foot deep.
